Story
We are raising money for Wear It Purple Day.
On the last Friday in August each year, people all over Australia wear purple to demonstrate to rainbow young people that they are celebrated and respected, and have the right to be proud of who they are and who they are becoming.
This year's theme is Bold Voices, Bright Futures, empowering LGBTQIA+ youth to openly and visibly achieve their dreams.
To support this year’s Wear it Purple Day, why not wear purple to demonstrate your support for the LGBTQIA+ community, apply a Teams meeting background for the day, or attend an event hosted by your Pride Network to raise money for Wear It Purple.
PM&C Pride Network in partnership with AGD Pride Network and National Circuit will host our annual Lip Sync Battle ‘Slay for Pay’ fundraiser on the night. This event is supported by DFAT Pride Network and Treasury Pride Network.
Donations made through this platform will be remitted directly through to Wear It Purple. Funds raised go towards providing support and resources for Schools, Universities, Gender & Sexuality Alliances (GSA’s) and Youth Organisations to assist them in creating inclusive experiences for rainbow young people.
Thanks for your support

Wear it Purple Incorporated
Wear It Purple is an Australian charity founded in 2010 to support LGBTQIA+ young people and create safe, empowering environments where they feel seen, respected and celebrated.
Our purpose is to foster supportive, safe and inclusive spaces for LGBTQIA+ young people at school, at home, online and in their communities. Our vision is for all LGBTQIA+ young people to thrive, to feel a sense of belonging, to access safe communities, and to be free from discrimination.
Research continues to show that LGBTQIA+ young people face significantly higher rates of bullying, exclusion and mental health challenges. Still, we also know that acceptance, visibility and community support dramatically improve wellbeing and reduce risk. Wear It Purple Day is held on the last Friday in August each year. It is a national movement of schools, community groups, workplaces and families coming together to show LGBTQIA+ young people that they are loved, valued and supported for who they are.
Your donation directly supports:
Free resources for schools, educators and communities to help create safer, more inclusive environments
Youth-led programs and initiatives amplifying LGBTQIA+ young voices
National visibility and awareness campaigns, empowering young people to be proud of who they are
Participation in pride, community and cultural events, ensuring LGBTQIA+ youth see positive representation
Growth of Wear It Purple’s volunteer network, allowing us to reach more communities across Australia
Thank you for supporting Wear It Purple. Your generosity helps us continue creating a world where every LGBTQIA+ young person feels safe, supported and celebrated.
