At John Holland, we believe in building a future that’s inclusive, safe, and empowering for everyone. That’s why we’re proud to be raising funds for Minus18, Australia’s leading charity supporting LGBTQIA+ youth. This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I), and aligns with our recognition as a Gold Employer in the Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI).
Our support for Wear it Purple Day builds on the momentum of our annual Days of significance celebrations, including our annual participation in Wear It Purple Day, where our people have come together to celebrate and advocate for LGBTQIA+ visibility and inclusion. These events have not only raised vital funds in previous years but have also strengthened our inclusive culture across the business.

Wear it Purple Incorporated
Wear It Purple is an Australian charity founded in 2010 to support LGBTQIA+ young people and create safe, empowering environments where they feel seen, respected and celebrated.
Our purpose is to foster supportive, safe and inclusive spaces for LGBTQIA+ young people at school, at home, online and in their communities. Our vision is for all LGBTQIA+ young people to thrive, to feel a sense of belonging, to access safe communities, and to be free from discrimination.
Research continues to show that LGBTQIA+ young people face significantly higher rates of bullying, exclusion and mental health challenges. Still, we also know that acceptance, visibility and community support dramatically improve wellbeing and reduce risk. Wear It Purple Day is held on the last Friday in August each year. It is a national movement of schools, community groups, workplaces and families coming together to show LGBTQIA+ young people that they are loved, valued and supported for who they are.
